Apparel Sourcing Show to focus on regional growth

The Guatemalan Textile and Apparel Industry Commission (VESTEX), every year, has been hosting the annual Apparel Sourcing Show (APSS) for last 19 years. This year the show is scheduled to be held during 22-24 March at the Grand Tikal Futura Convention Center in the Guatemala City.
A number of textile and apparel manufacturers along with service providers from Mexico, Colombia and the US-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) region are likely to participate in the event.
VESTEX here revealed that, this year's event would focus on the new business prospects coming up as a result of the revival of the apparel and textile industries in the region.
The CAFTA industry is known for the flexibility it offers in terms of volume and the design, which is much sought after in the present day market scenario.
Further, while the old consumers thumped by the global crisis are reverting back to the thriving region, the new consumers are cashing in on the CAFTA's close closeness to the US market and the US trade preferences.
The event would also host a Leaders' Forum, which would be an educational program characterizing the executives and managers while concentrating on sustainability. The program would also afford the participants with an opportunity to visit the factories in the region so as to help them locate a perfect site for production.
