One of the leading kids channel, Nickelodeon India recently has announced its licensing partnership with Liliput Kidswear, whereby it has permitted the later to launch an apparel collection about some of most loved characters on Nickelodeon like, 'Oggy & the Cockroaches', 'Dora the Explorer' and 'Ninja Hattori'.

Pursuant to the deal, Lilliput Kidswear would introduce a whole new range of apparel collection around these characters. This new range which is to form a part of Liliput's Spring-Summer 2011 Collection, would comprise a complete range of kids' apparels including capris, night-wear, shorts, shirts, T-shirts, skirts, sweat-shirts and other clothing accessories. As Liliput launches this new collection in March this year, the same would be made available in 275 Liliput outlets and 400 shop-in-shops in large format outlets, across India.

Sandeep Dahiya, Senior Vice President – Consumer Products, Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd. while speaking on this licensing tie-up said that, Liliput is one of the country's most admired kidswear retail brands and has excellent infiltration in metros and other cities. Further he said that, the brand with its wide-ranging network, top-notch production facilities and an excellent creative team, can well enliven the Nickelodeon characters on their apparel items.

Apparel and accessories are the major class in the kid's segment which is meeting steady growth, Dahiya said. Kids' now-a-days gain fashion consciousness at very small age, and as such sporting their most loved characters would be a high-point for them, he added.

Sanjeev Narula, Chairman & Managing Director of Lilliput India, too shared his views regarding the alliance as he said that, kids greatly adore the Nickelodeon characters and that they are very much keen on further expanding their vast range of offerings by adding Ninja Hattori, Oggy & the Cockroaches and Dora the explorer collections to this range. The Spring Summer 2011 Collection, uniquely intermingles the kids' fantasy and character themes and Liliput is firm to give its best and to meet excellent response, he added.

'Ninja Hattori', Oggy & the Cockroaches', 'Dora the Explorer' and 'SpongeBob SquarePants' are amongst the Nickelodeon's most loved cartoon characters and have great fan following. Currently, Nickelodeon India's licensing and retail business comprises over 50 categories with over 500 SKUs which are available in over 200 cities across India.
