organic selection and ECO Village: The closer dovetailing of organic selection and ECO Village as well as the consistent labelling of the certified fabric swatches, ranging from the Forum organic selection to the stands and collections of the relevant suppliers went down very well. Boasting 428 fabrics with an ecological approach submitted by 60 weaving and knitting mills, the Forum was a “treasure trove” of well-established companies as well as young designers kicking off their careers with new lines. Melchior Moss, owner of Slowmo, was thrilled. While sourcing used to be so cumbersome, now it's a “dream”, he delights. This makes the organic selection Forum the perfect platform for fast and high-quality information and support from the experts. After all, this also benefits the suppliers of ecologically oriented collections. Raphael Sommer, Managing Director of Hausamann & Moos: “We put a great deal of effort into making the Forum organic selection come true. And it has generated an incredible number of enquiries. It's a real asset for the fair.”
The meetings held between trade visitors and five certifying bodies and organisations at the service area of the ECO Village on the secondFLOOR were very in-depth. Here detailed technical advice was at the forefront. No wonder the IVN International Association Natural Textile Industry could scarcely cope with the number of enquiries about the GOTS Standard and the Textile Exchange was also more than happy with attendance in view of such renowned visitors as Nike, Puma, McGregor and Claudia Sträter.
