Owing to the country's strong grip on the readymade garment trade in the global market, the textile and apparel machinery traders are looking upon Bangladesh as a profitable business hub.
Textile machinery sales are also on a rise on account of heavy demand from the garment producers, and also for the reason that the garment sector of the country remained unaffected from the effects of the global economic crisis, which has boosted textile machinery sales over the last two years. Thus owing to these reasons, the global machinery exporters are now focusing on Bangladesh.
Most of the garment producers in Bangladesh are now on the way of either expanding or are investing in new projects and as such the country has emerged as a lucrative place for textile machinery trade.
Further, the country is also an attractive destination for fabric exporters, as it imports around 60 percent of its fabric requirement for woven garment industry, most of which comes from China.
It is foreseen that the textile machinery trade business in the country would develop over the next decade, while presently even a rise has been noticed in the demand for denim fabrics designing machinery.
