Alvanon sponsors 2011 AAFA Annual Executive Summit

The world's leading apparel fit expert, Alvanon, has announced that it is to play a major sponsorship role at the American Apparel & Footwear Association's, AAFA, 2011 Annual Executive Summit being held on March 2nd to 4th at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel, Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC. Alvanon has committed to sponsoring the summit's prestigious chairman's reception.

In addition, Ed Gribbin the recently appointed president of Alvanon Inc, has been invited to introduce one of the event's headline speakers General Michael Hayden, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, CIA, and National Security Agency, NSA.

The AAFA Annual Executive Summit is one of America's most important clothing and footwear events, attracting the sectors' most celebrated and influential industry professionals, economists and political commentators as speakers and delegates. The 2011 summit will address key global geo-political issues including a crucial debate on the economic and political challenges currently impacting the international clothing and footwear trading environment.

The AAFA is a trade association representing apparel, footwear, sewn products companies and their suppliers. It promotes and seeks to enhance members' competitiveness, productivity and profitability in the global market place. The AAFA's seminars and programme of events provide its members with excellent opportunities to network with their industry peers and customers, while learning about industry trends and issues from experts.

Ed Gribbin was recently appointed president of Alvanon Inc following three successful years as president of the group's strategic business consultancy. He has over 30 years experience in the international fashion industry and is widely recognised as the world's leading authority on apparel sizing and fit. Under Ed Gribbin's management Alvanon has compiled and has exclusive access to the world's largest database of over 300,000 body scans. Prior to Alvanon, he was president of Intellifit Corporation where he oversaw the collection of over 120,000 body shape scans for men, women and children in the US, Japan and

Europe; the data from which is now utilised by Alvanon. Ed Gribbin was also the co-inventor of the revolutionary Intellifit System, the first body scanner capable of collecting body scan data from fully clothed people.
