Dainese presents winter collection 2011/2012

The new winter collection 2011 by Dainese was presented on Monday February 28. The models showed off garments for next autumn/winter against the enchanting backdrop of Plan de Corones, at an altitude of 2274 m.

The presentation was attended by brother and sister Manfred and Manuela Moelgg Moelgg, Manfred the winner of a bronze medal at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen World Championships.

Thanks to them, Dainese has developed new shin guards and a helmet which for the first time combines materials such as carbon and Kevlar. Colour and technology are the two key words that symbolize the Dainese brand's philosophy.

Slim-fitting jackets and pants in high performance fabrics which are lightweight, breathable and waterproof, which ensure comfort and freedom of movement, and colours ranging from red to army green, with nuances of light and dark blue and yellow. Naturally, the protections were also present: ultra-light and highly coloured helmets to make a statement, latest generation back protector and masks with trendy designs accessorized the new proposals.

During the presentation, mention was made of the agreement signed a few weeks ago with FIS, the International Ski Federation, for the initial phase to collect data to produce the D D-air platform applicable in Alpine Skiing, SuperG and GS. Both FIS and Dainese consider the safety and protection of athletes their top priority. The data will be used to define the algorithm that will trigger the system, when deemed necessary. The project will be ongoing for the next two years, until 2013.
