Spyder to use Pertex high-performance fabric

Pertex, designer and manufacturer of high-performance fabrics, announces a partnership with Spyder Active Sports, Inc., a leading skiwear and mountain-based apparel brand, to produce select new pieces for the Spyder 2011 - 2012 collection.
Pertex provides fabrics to an array of top outdoor industry manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe for creation of high-end apparel and sleeping bags. Pertex's outstanding reputation in the UK and high quality fabric offerings is what piqued Spyder's interest.
“We're pleased to be working with Spyder, as they are a clear leader in the industry,” said Steve Laycock, manager of Pertex. “The variations of fabric that Spyder selected for their pieces clearly shows the vast range of offerings in the Pertex Shield line.”
Spyder Active Sports, renowned for integrating high-tech fabrics, fashion and functionality, will introduce both the warmest jacket in the entire Spyder collection, the Men's Rocket Down Jacket, and the luxurious Women's Cloud Nine Down Jacket featuring Pertex Shield fabric for fall/winter 2011.
Pertex Shield range of fabrics provide the perfect balance of breathability, wind and water repellency with lightweight construction allowing a highly functional garment that is light but tough on performance and protection.
Founded in1970, by mountaineer Hamish Hamilton and Perseverance Mills Ltd. based on the theory of Hamilton's known as capillary action applied to polyamide yarns. Pertex was purchased in 2005 by Mitsui & Co. Ltd., a company dedicated to the research and development of innovative textile technology. It is Pertex's innovation which has earned the company it's reputation with products such as Pertex Classic, Equilibrium, Quantum, Microlight and Endurance.
