Lands' End Canvas wins first annual 'Store Wars' contest

While a good part of the nation was focused on a bracket for men's college basketball, style blog Dappered took the concept to brands that carry affordable men's style. Dubbed "Store Wars," Dappered set up an elimination-style bracket that pitted 16 well-known men's clothing lines, including Lands' End Canvas, against each other for the championship. Each day, two brands competed for votes for the chance to advance to the next round. After three weeks of voting, thousands of fans had spoken and Lands' End Canvas came out on top.

"The Lands' End Canvas brand is less than two years old," stated Chris Kolbe, chief merchandising and design officer for Lands' End. "We went up against storied, well-known brands that have been in the men's business for – in some cases – over 100 years! The fact that Lands' End Canvas came out on top of 'Store Wars' shows us that men like what we're doing and appreciate our quality and classic American style."

Where Style and Brackets Collide

Announced in a March 14th post, the Dappered selection committee selected the top 16 stores, sites and brands of the affordable men's style world. Right away fans rallied around Lands' End Canvas with positive comments and supporting votes. When the finals rolled around, the classic American style of Lands' End Canvas had proven to be a favorite of voters. With over 1,000 votes cast in the final round, Lands' End Canvas easily sailed to victory with 68% of the vote.

"Congratulations to the entire Lands' End Canvas team," said Dappered editor and director Joseph Weber. "Not just for defeating some stiff competition in our little tournament, but also for the immediate success their new take on the classic Lands' End brand has become."

Knowing it was intense voting from fans around the country, Lands' End Canvas wants to share its victory with the people who made the brand a champion.
