“Provide a safe workplace for workers and stand besides fire victims”, Shajahan Khan - Shipping Minister exhorted readymade garment factory owners.

He was speaking at a workshop on 'Multi- Stakeholder Meeting on Fire Prevention in RMG Sector,' co-organised by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh National Council (BNC) of Textile, Garment and Leather Workers.

Khan said, fire accidents in the clothing sector have increased, mainly due to surge in expansion of the sector in Bangladesh.

He said, in tandem with the BGMEA, the government was working towards preventing fire accidents in the sector by giving necessary support and training the employees and urged the clothing factory owners to provide safe working zones to their workers.
