Louis D'Ambrosio, the new CEO of Sears, vouched to help the ailing retailer to turn around, by banking on their primary brands like Lands' End and Craftsman and through smart promotion of these brands.
The official while addressing the shareholders at the annual meeting of Sears Holding Corp. said that, bringing back the company's ever declining clothing business on track would be their priority.
Though he did not laid a comprehensive plan for achieving this goal, but sounded much positive, particularly regarding company's two new clothing lines - Sofia Vergara, from the star of ABC's "Modern Family", and Kardashian Collection, which is proposed to be launched in 400 Sears outlets in August this year.
Chairman Edward Lampert, who has been in charge of Sears from 2005 onwards, expressed his discontent over company's long-sagging clothing sales.
He stated that, the company needs to once again deliberate on the massive space allocated to apparel segment, and may either consider adding new brands or tying up with other retailers.
He said that, they need to present the customers with the brands they want to buy, and if customers are seeking brands of other companies, there is nothing wrong in offering those brands by partnering with those firms.
D'Ambrosio said that, if the new clothing collection fails to deliver expected results, the company is not likely to wait for long and may cut back.
