NAUMD honors Lion Uniform with Image of the Year Award

G&K Services Inc announced that its Lion Uniform Group, recently received an "Image of the Year Award" from the National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD). These annual awards recognize distinctive image programs in the corporate uniform and apparel industry. This campaign adds to Lion Uniform Group's growing list of "Image of the Year" awards, and is the seventh award received in the last three years.

The 2011 award was won in the best Retail Category honoring the Fueling Awareness Campaign that was designed by Lion's internal product development team. In the fall of 2009, Lion Uniform Group launched the Fueling Awareness, AWorkforce United for a Cure campaign to help Lion's customers support Breast Cancer Awareness through a branded apparel program. The campaign was developed to bring more awareness to the most common type of cancer affecting wives, mothers, sisters and friends everywhere.

A Workforce United for a Cure had the power to make a real difference through the purchase of pink ribbon apparel. By donating a percentage of each item sold, the two year campaign has in total contributed over $22,000 to National Breast Cancer Foundations.
