The decision would become effective either on June 2, 2011 or immediately on commencement of the CTMS system, whichever would be earlier, the CPA letter read. The port authority has also directed all the port officials to make necessary provisions in this regard.
The CPA even stated that, extended cut-off time for ships may lead to a logjam situation of ships, which is not in interest of the other port users. The export cargo should be stuffed in containers within normal cut-off time and the same should be forwarded to the port yard for exporting in time.
