Southern Tide, a Greenville, S.C.-based manufacturer of a rapidly growing lifestyle brand of apparel, today announced that the company has been named an official apparel sponsor for the 2011 GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship. More than 10,000 Southern Tide products will be provided for the anticipated 3,000 amateur golfers, in this year's tournament.

Southern Tide featured items, which will be provided to golfers in the tournament gift bag, include the Skipjack polo, a Southern Tide logo Skipjack golf hat, along with assorted accessories. Tournament staff and volunteers will also be outfitted by Southern Tide.

“We are proud to be associated with the GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship,” said Jim Twining, CEO of Southern Tide. “To showcase our brand in one of the largest amateur golf tournaments in the world is yet another step in our brand strategy. Sharing our apparel and accessories with golf enthusiasts from the United States and around the world is very exciting!”

“We are delighted to have Southern Tide as an official apparel sponsor for the World Am,” said Dave Macpherson, tournament director of the GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship. “Their products fit so appropriately into the golf world, it makes perfect sense to have them as part of the event. We are certain the players, staff members, and volunteers will enjoy sporting their Southern Tide apparel during the tournament this year.”

The 28th annual GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship will be held August 29 through September 2, 2011 as more than 3,000 amateur golfers from all 50 states and more than 20 countries are expected to converge on more than 60 Myrtle Beach area golf courses to compete for the right to be world amateur champion.
