A San Francisco panel discussion titled, 'How we can become more conscious consumers in order to improve the lives of apparel workers across the globe who make our clothes' was held recently. The panel featured Kim Almeida, senior program manager at Levi Strauss; Ayesha Barenblat, founder of Remake; and Stephanie Cordes, vice chair at the Cordes Foundation.

“Not only does this improve workers' lives both inside and beyond the factory walls, it's also a good investment. We've found that for every dollar invested in Worker Well-being programs, it creates $3 to $4 in return,” she added.
“We believe this is the future and this is what every company should be doing. If you invest in your workers, it's good for your business. Happy, healthy employees are more productive employees and it's not that complicated,” Almeida observed. (AR)
