Snapdeal appoints Ashish Jain as Sr VP Investor Relations

E-commerce major Snapdeal has appointed Ashish Jain as Senior Vice President - Investor Relations and M&A Integrations, it said in a press release. Jain brings with him over 18 years of experience in analysing M&A opportunities and developing strategic business portfolios for global companies.

In his previous role as Associate Partner with McKinsey and Company, Singapore, Jain was responsible for defining strategies and M&A for TMT companies across Asia. He has led diverse roles, collaborating with operations, marketing and frontline sales and technologies teams for project and business planning and new market entry. Before joining McKinsey, Jain was Director, Business Development, M&A, Strategy & Performance Management for Telenor's Asia operations based out of Bangkok. Jain has also served as Associate Director for 4 years at the UBS London and Mumbai offices and at Altera's California office for 7 years as a Product Marketing Manager. An erstwhile investment banker and equity research analyst, he is well versed with stakeholder management, valuations, negotiations and overall business operations.

Welcoming Jain on board, Anup Vikal, CFO Snapdeal said, “Ashish has built a successful career in developing intricate relationships with global investment hubs including Europe, America and Asia. His experience and enthusiasm will be pivotal in driving a fulfilling business for Snapdeal's investors and stakeholders.”

Speaking about his appointment Jain said, “In the last few years, Snapdeal has emerged as a leader within the ecommerce and tech space and I look forward to joining the young and energetic Snapdeal family. Digital commerce is an exciting sector and I am keen on exploring new avenues for long-term growth of the business and all stakeholders.”

Jain holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from INSEAD and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin, the release said. (SH)
