Teijin to globally launch hook & loop fastener Fastenano

Teijin Ltd will now globally launch Fastenano, which is an extra soft polyester hook and loop fastener, and which has been developed in house by the Japanese company.
According to Teijin, the company uses its Nanofront polyester nanofibre-pile fabric for the loop surface and a polyester raised fabric for the hook surface of the Fastenano.
“While Fastenano achieves high adhesiveness when pulled in a horizontal direction, it separates easily when pulled in a vertical direction,” the company observed.
“The key is the Nanofront pile fabric's high friction, which enables to twine effectively around the hook surface,” Teijin added.
When the surfaces are separated, the ripping sound is much quieter than conventional hook and loop fasteners, with the hook and loop surfaces being very soft.
Teijin is now developing other Fastenano products that will do away with bothersome hooks and buttons, including bedclothes, sundries, furniture, apparels, uniforms and medical applications. (AR)
