"Driven by necessity, the fashion industry is looking to sustainable solutions for help to survive. Unsold inventory will be the biggest issue for retailers over the next six months. In light of this, we’ve heard brands talk about focusing on trans-seasonal pieces, designing timeless classics that can be sold whatever the season, and doing smaller, more regular drops of clothing—reducing the amount of products that go unsold, only to be heavily discounted at the end of the season. This is what customers want—and it makes both environmental and financial sense," says Davidson in the June 2020 edition of Fibre2Fashion.
