The latest trend and topic of athleisure will be addressed in a comprehensive and informative manner at the next Performance Days, which runs from November 3-4, 2015 in the Munich MTC in Germany.

“The Performance Gate zone will show key fibres, fabrics, and treatments, their features, advantages, and functional ranges,” the organisers of Performance Days said in a press release.

The possibilities and opportunities for the clothing manufacturers in terms of this new trend will be discussed in the expert talks scheduled on November 4.

Among others, textile engineer Dr. Walter Kampen will explain the difference between natural and man-made chemical fibres in a live demonstration with help from a smart phone.

Designer Nora Kühner will give a preview of the dress code of the future and predicts the future functional range of athleisure wear.

“A discussion panel with journalist Sophie Brahmel will focus on this latest trend and in summary, an extensive program has been prepared to bring the sports and fashion brands closer together with this topic,” they added.

According to the organisers, one of the key challenges to clothing manufacturers is to make the athleisure collections simultaneously fashionable and able to meet the demands of sporting consumers.

“Comprehensive information about the focus-topic has been prepared for the exhibits at the Performance Forum and Performance Gate,” they informed.

Performance Days is a pioneer when it comes to trends, a fact that is well established in the sports clothing segment.

“So, it is only fitting that the leading trade fair for functional fabrics dedicate the next edition of the fair in November 2015 to the topic of athleisure,” the organisers observed.

Performance Days launched in 2008 is the first and only event created especially for functional fabrics for sports and work clothing.

The fair aims to give exhibitors the opportunity to show functional fabrics, membranes plus treatments, laminates, paddings, finishes, and accessories such as yarns, tapes, prints, buttons and zippers.

Industry experts who come to the fair, sports fashion designers, product managers and decision-makers represent almost every European active clothing and functional wear manufacturer. (AR)
