Istanbul-based company Mel Tekstil and the municipality of Kovin in Serbia recently signed a memorandum of understanding to open a factory to produce car seat covers. The company is obliged to train and employ 100 workers by the end of 2020 and another 200 by 2022. The municipal authorities will issue the necessary permits and authorisations.

Mel Tekstil has production facilities in Germany and Turkey, and the plan is for part of the production, currently located in Istanbul, to be moved to Kovin, for logistical requirements.
