Marketer of several apparel brands VF Corporation has named the current president and chief operating officer Steven Rendle as its chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2017. Rendle succeeds Eric Wiseman, who is currently serving as the chief executive officer and who will continue to serve as executive chairman of VF's board of directors.

As the chief executive officer, Steven Rendle will be responsible for VF's strategic direction, successful implementation and achievement of its near and long-term growth plan and global operations.

Rendle has more than 30 years of experience in the specialty outdoor and action sports industry, 16 of which have been with VF, where he began his career with The North Face brand in 1999.

“We have been working since 2008 to identify and prepare the right person to succeed me when the time comes. That time is now,” Eric Wiseman said. “Steve is the right person to serve as VF's next CEO as we begin our 118th year of business.” (AR)
