Van de Velde introduces safety measures amidst Covid-19

Van de Velde, a manufacturer of luxury lingerie, has introduced safety measures to ensure the well-being of its employees and retail partners, such as the maximum possible use of telework, social distancing in the workplace. Furthermore, both the company owned stores as well as most of the retail partners' stores have been temporarily closed.
 
However, the company suggested that some countries are gradually starting up the stores again.
 
The company reported that together with the employees, it also tries to contribute to society during these difficult times, the employees of the stitching department in Schellebelle have produced face masks and medical protective clothing.
 
The consumer are being served through the online channel and company also is trying to support their retail partners in this as much as possible.
 
In Van de Velde earlier release, it stated the measures to strengthen its cash position, such as the discontinuation of the share buyback programme and the proposal not to pay a dividend for the time being. 
 
Given the uncertainty regarding the duration of the current measures, company reports it is impossible to make an accurate estimate of the concrete consequences of Covid-19 on the company. Van de Velde will continue to monitor the situation closely.
