According to a statement issued by GSO, Mr. Unverdi said during the meeting that during the first three months of the current year, the Turkish city exported apparel worth $30 million which is 22 percent more than the exports made during the same period last year.
Knitwear accounted for majority of these exports and the knitwear industry of the city has been making tremendous progress during the last few years, which would be demonstrated during the Knitwear, Knitted Yarn and Technology fair (TRIKONFEX), scheduled to be held from May 7 to 10, 2014, he added.
At the meeting, Mr. Unverdi informed that the fair would serve as a platform for Gaziantep knitwear industry to showcase its latest products to domestic and international buyers in the country.
Organized by GSO, with the support of the Small and Medium Industry Development Organization (KOSGEB), the four-day event would be held at the Middle East Exhibition Center in Gaziantep, and international buyers from France, Germany, Russia and the US would be attending the show.
