 ATIRA has developed a solar power operated dobby shaft selection system for handlooms, which replaces the conventional mechanical selection system.
SALIENT FEATURES:
- Replaces the conventional mechanical dobby selection system
- Less effort required to operate the loom hence less fatigue
- Facilitates quick design change over to meet the needs of fast changing fashion market
- Retrofit system on existing as well as on new handloom
- Microcontroller module used for programming each pick and engaging the selected hooks
- Dobby design can easily be changed by replacing the programmed module
- Dobby shaft selection up to 12 shafts
- Dobby designs can be stored and erased
- Works on solar power supply 12 VDC (11-14 VDC)
- Consumes average power 7 watts and peak power 15 watts
- System developed has been evaluated at ATIRA
ATIRA is an autonomous non-profit association for textile research. It is the largest of its kind in India for textile and allied industries.
ATIRA was established on 13th December 1947, and started in 1949 after due recognition by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Later it was linked to the Ministry of Textiles.
