To control large scale imports of the fabric, Federation of Indian Textile Manufacturers Association (FAITMA) has determined to supervise fabric imports.
During the FAITMA annual general meeting, restrictions on fabrics imports have been proposed to control imports and will be removed by 2010 after it is normalized.
In the meeting, imposition of anti-dumping duty was recommended by FAITMA as and when import reached danger level and affects local manufacturers.
This meeting has got extraordinary response from leading fabric producers mainly from synthetic sector. Moreover FAITMA is also planning to organize CEO meet in next year.
