Objectives
* To represent wool production and the wool textile trade and industry in all branches of economic activity.
* To promote, support or oppose measures affecting wool production and the wool textile trade and industry and encourage the study and solution of economic and commercial questions affecting the aforesaid interests.
* To ensure the functioning of the International Wool Textile Arbitration Agreement in wool production.
* To maintain a permanent connection between the organisations representing wool production and the wool textile trade and industry in member-countries.
* To oversee the development and correct application of scientific Test Methods and Regulations among its membership.

To position and to value wool clearly in the consumer mind as a material which is desirable for its technical, ethical and comfort values.
Mission
IWTO mission is to help our Wool Industry Members to understand the textile demands of the consumers, and to enhance to respond to them with products and promotional activities especially developed to meet their needs, with a fibre that is highly desirable for its social, technical, comfort and sustainable values.
The expected outcome should be a better positioning of the Wool fibre on top of consumers' choices and preferences, and to bring a steady increase of wool sales and higher market share, and the maintenance of commercial advantages along the entire wool demand chain, from retailers to woolgrowers, all around the world.
