Macedonia : Cloth & footwear prices up 0.2% in 2006

Republic of Macedonia - State Statistical Office released the Retail Price Index of 2006. The Retail Price Index of 2006, in relation to 2005 has increased for 3.9%, while Consumer Price Index has increased for 3.2%.
The movement of the Retail Price Index in 2006 differs by groups: an increase has been registered in non-food industrial products for 5.5%, agricultural products for 4.8% and services for 3.7%.
The movement of the Consumer Price Index in 2006 differs by various groups of consumption, too: an increase has been registered in the group of cloth and footwear for 0.2%.
Retail Price Index in December 2006 in relation with December 2005 has increased by 2.9%, as well as the Consumer Price Index.
Retail Price Index in December 2006 in relation with previous month, decreased by 0.1%. An increase in the Retail Price index by 2.1% in December 2006 in comparison with the previous month was registered in agricultural products and in non-food industrial products for 0.3%.
Retail Price Index in Beverages remains at the same level as in previous month.
Decrease in Retail price index of 0.6%, in December 2006 in relation with previous month was evident in the group of Services and for 0.4% in food-industrial products.
Due to the retail price movements, the Consumer Price Index in December 2006 in relation to November 2006 has decreased for 0.1%. A decrease was mainly result of index decrease in the group of Housing for 1.2% and Culture and entertainment for 0.7%.
