TEA to chart next course of action after ministerial meet

A meeting on Cotton Issue was hed at TEA Board Room. Shri.A.Sakthivel, President, TEA (Tirupur Exporters' Association) chaired the meeting.
Tirupur Exporters Association – popularly known as TEA - was established in the year 1990. This is an Association exclusively for exporters of cotton knitwear who have production facilities in Tirupur.
From the modest beginning TEA has grown into a strong body of knitwear exporters. Today, TEA has a membership of 686 Life members and 155 Associate Members.
The following representatives of the respective Associations participated mainly to discuss about the developments taking place on cotton issue and also taking up the further course of action on the concerned issue.
Shri.Sakthivel explained the developments taking place in cotton issue and informed the group of Ministers meeting has been postponed to 27th September 2010 and he added that cotton registration with Textile Commissioner office, Mumbai has also been postponed to 1st October 2010.
All the participants from respective associations had given their opinions and views on the course of action to be taken to softening of the cotton prices.
It was unanimously decided not to resort for any kind of agitation till the next meeting and also wait for the out come of the group of Ministers meeting scheduled on 27th September 2010.
Finally, the meeting concluded that the further course of action will be decided on all India basis based on the out come of the group of Ministers meeting.
