USA : INDO-US collaborative international conference on advances in textiles

Kumaraguru College of Technology and Texas Tech University, USA are jointly organizing a world meet to deliberate latest advancements in the textile field in Coimbatore from June 18-20, 2007.

This conference is poised to be a major international event with participation from over ten countries such as USA, UK, Germany, Australia, Austria, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Spain, China and India.

Leading machinery manufacturers, textile industry and academia such as Reicofil–Germany, Norafin, Rieter, LMW, University of Leeds-UK, CSIRO-Australia, Indian Institute of Technology, Textile Research Associations in India and other leading academic institutions from India and abroad will deliberate cutting-edge technologies in the field of textiles.

This international event is broad based and will span the entire spectrum of the textile industry. Advancements in spinning, weaving and knitting, nonwoven process and applications, medical and technical textiles, advances in natural and man made fibres, military textiles, developments in finishing and nano technology will be prominently discussed by world leaders for 3 days.

A significant recognition for the event is the endorsement by the United States Congressman, The Honorable Randy Neugebauer of 19th Congressional District, Texas, USA. This recognition is unique and could very well be the first of its kind in the INDO-US collaborative events.

The conference will be inaugurated by Honorable Shri E.V.K.S. Elangovan, Central Minister of State for Textiles. Padma Bhushan Dr. N. Mahalingam, Chairman, Kumaraguru College of Technology will preside over the function.
