More than 130 top suppliers from the spinning, nonwoven, weaving, knitting, hosiery and finishing machine sectors are affiliated with the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, forming one of the most important groups of the largest industry association in Europe. They represent roundabout 90 percent of the total German market volume.
The main activities of the Association in supporting its members are economical and technical lobbying for the branch, exchange of experience and services among which should be noted: set-up of statistics, observation of important markets, reports on the situation of world-wide textile industries, active support in decisions about trade fairs, regular newsletters about all information important for the member companies as well as public relations. The sourcing service is of particular importance. In the technical field the emphasis is laid on information about legal regulations regarding machine safety, standardisation and industry-joint research and development.
For five decades now the German manufacturers have been the Number One on the world market. German machines are in active service in more than 150 countries and they produce reliably textiles which meet highest quality requirements. Machines and equipment are being delivered which cover the whole spectrum of the textile chain.
