Avintiv starts A.Celli's Iridium printing machine

A.Celli Nonwovens announced the successful start up with excellent results of the Iridium printing machine sold last year in Mexico to PGI, which today is known as Avintiv.

“The investment in 2015 was part of its expansion plans for the Mexican site, with the clear intent of expanding production of specialty materials for the American continent,” a A.Celli press release revealed.

The Iridium Flexo printing system is capable of printing variable width products in the range of 1600 mm to 2150 mm and is equipped with 4 colours, extendable to a maximum of 6 colours.

According to A.Celli, the system can attain a production speed of 450 metres per minute, guaranteeing the customer, the utmost level of flexibility, many aesthetic advantages and high performances.

Besides the printing unit, the project also includes an unwinding system and a Nexus winder equipped latest generation of in-line slitting system.

Additionally, it also includes an integrated shaft handling and finished reel handling system, a dust suction system and all the engineering work for line commissioning to guarantee excellent quality levels. (AR)
