Sportswear Company adidas has roped Japanese baseball team Yomiuri Giants with the intention of capturing Asian market.

Yomiuri Giants' players will be seen taking grounds donning uniform carrying the potent three line adidas symbol.

Earlier, adidas' baseball goods were being manufactured and sold by its Japanese agent.

Adidas Japan KK was formed in 1998 by the parent company to take advantage from Japanese lucrative sporting goods market.

Shigeki Saito, Chief of the category marketing headquarters of Adidas Japan KK said Adidas' strategy was to pair up with the No 1 (Japanese baseball team). We had nobody but the Giants in mind because of their impact in the Japanese baseball world."

Nike inc, close rival of adidas has already forayed in Japanese market in 1995 by signing contracts with players like infielder Kazuhiro Kiyohara of the Orix Buffaloes and pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka of the Seibu Lions.

adidas is a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport around the globe.

The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has long become reality, and his corporate philosophy the guiding principle for successor generations.
