 Cognis Corporation has been recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for “developing innovative chemistry and technologies that further pollution prevention and other environmental goals.” Cognis’ Dehyquart L 80 was selected to receive the EPA’s Pollution Prevention (P2) Recognition Award.
For this award the EPA selects products that have been found to promote source reduction as well as achieve safety goals, particularly when the innovative chemistries substitute for existing chemicals that pose greater risks. Being a highly concentrated cationic surfactant of liquid composition, Dehyquart L 80 is an 80% active material that is cold processable and contains no VOCs. The INCI name for Dehyquart L 80 is Dicocoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate and Propylene Glycol. This is a product derived from both natural and petro carbons. As part of the Cognis Green Chemical Solutions program Dehyquart L 80 is designated as a one leaf product. It is readily biodegradable and shows a preferable aqua tox profile.
Dehyquart L 80 can be used in fabric conditioners, cheater wax formulation for car care, dust mop treatment and other anti-static applications. The product is currently only available in the US.
