IMG Fashion announced that its title sponsor for the event in Turkey will be Mercedes-Benz, adding Istanbul to its roster of worldwide sponsorships. Their global fashion platform reaches nearly every major fashion week worldwide, including events produced and represented by IMG Fashion in New York, Miami, Berlin, Sydney, Moscow and Tokyo as well as consumer fashion programs in Zurich and Sydney.

“Istanbul has strong fashion credentials with an existing high-quality manufacturing and textile industry. Our aim is to put a focus on fostering and celebrating regional Turkish talent as well as provide invaluable mentoring to build their businesses to an international audience,” says Peter Levy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, IMG Fashion Worldwide Events and Properties.

“We are excited to have Mercedes-Benz as a title sponsor as they have an unwavering commitment to fashion and their support reaffirms the potential we see for Istanbul and Turkish fashion.”

Mercedes-Benz Türk President & CEO Wolf-Dieter Kurz states that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the first organization that comes to mind when worldwide fashion events are mentioned. He says: "We are very proud of being the title sponsor of the fashion week also in Istanbul. We believe that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will provide a new worldwide acceleration to young Turkish designers and to Istanbul fashion community.

“Mercedes-Benz and fashion really fit together perfectly if we think of Mercedes-Benz vehicles' high sophisticated design and styling. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul will give us the opportunity to meet with new customers with ultimate design and style expectations. We will also establish even stronger ties between our brand and the world of fashion."

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul Autumn/Winter 2013 Collections will take place between March 12-16, at Antrepo 3 in Tophane. Over the course of five days, thousands of people will attend shows, conduct interviews and come to meet the media, retailers and fashion insiders. The event will feature two venues, the Runway and the Studio, where designers will have the option to host intimate presentations throughout the week.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul is endorsed by Istanbul Ready-Made Garment and Apparel Exporters' Association (IHKIB), the Fashion Designers Association (MTD), United Brands Association (BMD) and the Istanbul Moda Academy (IMA) who paved the way to make this event possible.
