Indo Rama Synthetics enhances POY production facility at Butibori

According to media sources, Indo Rama Synthetics India Ltd has announced that the company has commenced commercial production at its enhanced POY manufacturing facility at Butibori, Nagpur effective November 01, 2006.

The Company is currently manufacturing 1,050 tonnes of Polyester Fibre Yarns and Chips per day translating to an annual Production of 300,000 tonnes.

The current average daily production is approximately 50 percent higher than the daily average production achieved between April - September 2006.

The commissioning of the expanded facility gives the Company several benefits. With minimal manpower addition, variable costs are expected to be considerably lower.

Further, the new facility is equipped with the latest technology from ZIMMER AG (Germany) that operates at lower temperatures thereby conserving energy and reducing power costs.

A large size continuous polymerization plant of 400 Tonnes offers further volume and cost advantages.

The Company also proposes to complete the doubling if its Polyester Staple Fibre manufacturing facility and commence commercial production in the quarter beginning January 2007.

Additionally, Indo Rama Petrochemicals (IRPL) a Company in which the Company has a 45 percent stake is putting up a 2x15 MW coal-based captive power plant at Butibori. The Company has entered into a power purchase agreement with IRPL.

The power plant will be eligible for exemption from electricity cess as a result of which the Company will be able to procure power at considerably cheaper rates as compared to the state electricity grid.
