The desire of the industry for a summer platform in China has been expressed increasingly at ISPO BEIJING, which has taken place for the past 10 years. In addition to Winter ISPO, it should simplify the required market coverage.
In June 2013, Messe München came a bit closer to meeting the demand with the ISPO ACADEMY in Shanghai and provided trade and industry with accomplished service. Almost 250 industry representatives were on hand and discussed the future market in China.
Klaus Dittrich, Chief Executive Officer of Messe München, explained: "It has become increasingly clearer that the industry wants a second platform to do justice to the dynamic developments of the Chinese sporting goods market on the side of industry and specialist retailers."
The segments action, sport style, watersports and performance are currently growing substantially every year. At the same time, retailers are also developing further from specialist retailers to multi-segment retailers.
Messe München ISPO is reacting to the demand of market participants and is starting a second ISPO in China in 2015, which has been designed in collaboration with the industry. Messe München already provides an established trade fair in the winter with various segments with ISPO BEIJING.
This valuable experience will be integrated into the new concept. At the new summer platform, retailers can then obtain information about the areas of action, performance, outdoor, style and the new trend watersport at just one trade fair.
Messe München is integrating both exhibitors and visitors actively in the decision-making process to find a suitable event date and an ideal site.
Detailed surveys will be conducted under the parent brand ISPO among market participants at various events in 2014: ISPO MUNICH 2014, ISPO BEIJING 2014 and ISPO ACADEMY Shanghai in June 2014. This customer feedback will be integrated both into the decisions as well as into the new summer concept.
