Local police detect Lacoste fakes

Recently, local police and market supervisor of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) in an investigation detected that many shops here showcase and sell fashion and perfumary products under the fake name of France based Lacoste.
The investigation was carried out on basis of Lacoste office based in Vietnam. They claimed that local brands are violating trademark laws by manufacturing imitation products under their name.
The local police and market supervisor seized 1,275 elastic shirts which are fakes of Lacoste, at four shops named Anh Dung, Hai Yen, Hong Tuoi and Minh Vy at Sai Gon Square.
Owners of these shops were unable to produce certificate of origin for these products and admitted that these are illegally sold in the market.
In Vietnam, Danh Gia Co Ltd is the authorized and sole distributor for Lacoste brand. They have stores in Parkson Hung Vuong Plaza, Opera View located in Ho Chi Minh City and Pacific Place in Hanoi.
