Messe Frankfurt Istanbul names Schubert as Provisional MD

Mirko Schubert (48) is to take over from Aleksandar Medjedovic as provisional Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Istanbul. As before, Mirko Schubert will be assisted by Deputy Director General Tayfun Yardim and Isin Saglam as Finance & Administration Manager. Mirko Schubert will report directly to Detlef Braun as the responsible Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt.

Messe Frankfurt and Medjedovic are parting company due to differences of opinion regarding the future strategic market orientation of the Turkish subsidiary.

Messe Frankfurt Istanbul is responsible for the growing portfolio of Messe Frankfurt events in Turkey. At the same time, the company serves the needs of Turkish exhibitors at Messe Frankfurt trade fairs in Frankfurt and worldwide. The portfolio includes Automechanika Istanbul and Texworld Istanbul, which is to take place on a six-monthly basis as of November 2014.

Since 2008, Mirko Schubert – a graduate in Business Administration – has been Vice President responsible for Messe Frankfurt’s global sales management at the company’s Frankfurt headquarters.
