Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is the place to be this month to catch up on all the latest design inspirations in the industry. In keeping with the rising interest in China for high-end home textile products, a greater focus is placed on design-related events and exhibitors at this year’s fair. Taking place from 27 to 29 August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, around 1,350 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions will fill 13 halls and 150,400 sqm.

Looking to take advantage of the demand in China for premium products at the fair is a number of the industry’s top editors. This includes Designers Guild, JAB and LaCanTouch which represents the CASADECO, Flordelis, Jean Paul Gaultier and Sonia Rykiel brands. And Unichina will showcase a number of European brands including Armonia, Edinburgh Weavers, Gonzalez Llado and THEVENON.

On day one morning of the fair, a press conference titled ‘Design Comes Home’ will take place, where some of China’s renowned interior designers will use the latest collections of these editor brands to provide a special showcase under the 2015 International Lifestyle Trend Forum theme ‘Balance’.

Further design inspiration for the coming season can be found in the Intertextile Design Boutique (hall W1). This is where 39 international design studios from 13 countries and regions will display their original designs and artwork for fabric and product development. A design resource lounge with the latest trend information can also be found here.

Debut Home Decoration Trend Area to illustrate trend forum themes in practical setting
A new highlight at the fair this year is the Home Decoration Trend Area (hall W2). This zone uses the full range of home textile products to illustrate in a practical setting the trend themes that feature in the Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend Forum (hall W1). The design of this area has been managed by Dai Kun, one of China’s preeminent architects and interior designers, and also a member of the Trend Committee which developed the International Lifestyle Trend Forum.

Of particular note in this area are the wall coverings on display. As the fair’s product range expands to meet the needs of the design-conscious local market, a number of design-focused wall covering exhibitors can be found within hall W2 as well. Domestic suppliers to watch out for include Seegreen, Uniwal, Wallmate and Yamo.

International and domestic trend forums will also feature at the fair. The Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend Forum (hall W1) will present four lifestyle themes for 2015, which have been developed by the diverse and widely experienced Trend Committee, and utilise exhibitors’ fabrics to illustrate the trends for next year. And those that are looking to understand the domestic trends for next year can discover them in the China Home Textile Trend Forum in hall W3.
