He added “Close to 200 stores would be opened by 2008-09 in the Southern cities alone at an investment of around US$100,000 per store. One of the key differentiators of Nahar Retail Ltd.'s has been its retail expansion strategy of tapping the hitherto untapped markets in TIER II & TIER III cities which offer immense growth opportunities for a value for money, fashion & lifestyle brand such as Cotton County.”

He concluded, “Cotton County is primarily a mass-oriented brand and hence it is immensely critical that we make ourselves available in the smaller cities before we make our presence felt in the larger ones. Cotton County has already marked its foray into Karnataka, with the launch of its outlets in Belgaum with plans of opening more in centers such as Gulbarga and Hubli.”

Commenting on the challenges faced prior to entering newer markets, Mr. Sachin Sahni, Vice President, Cotton County, Nahar Retail Ltd, elaborated, “The Southern India belt poses new challenges for a brand like Cotton County, which boasts of a pre-dominantly strong presence in the Northern Indian belt considering the varied fashion sensitivities across different belts of the country."

"This is where decades of research, experience & knowledge in the space of world class textile manufacturing & fashion & lifestyle retailing enables us to understand the requirements, tastes & preferences of the target customer looking for value for money solutions to their fashion requirements.”

“The growth opportunities have been very encouraging for us to explore newer markets and hence we have set ourselves the target of being identified as a top of the mind recall, value for money lifestyle apparels brand across all established and emerging markets alike."

"We as an integrated textile manufacturer company and retailing brand have an unmatched understanding and commitment of international standards in quality fashion & lifestyle-wear and are thus able to explore newer markets with ease”, concluded Mr. Sahni.
