Rhodia launches its latest innovation in the textile segment. Emana, a polyamide textile yarn, belongs to the line of smart products, which incorporates bioactive crystals, capable of providing the textile goods with therapeutic characteristics.

Crystals interact with the skin through infrared in a wavelength suitable to provide blood microcirculation enhancement in the body area in contact with the clothing, bringing several benefits to the body.

Its striking features include improvement in thermoregulation and energy production, delaying the muscular fatigue (particularly caused by accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles), in addition to improvements in skin elasticity.

The innovation, developed in Rhodia laboratories in Brazil, may be used in the manufacture of a broad line of garment items, such as sportswear (casual or active sports), lingerie and underwear, in addition to other textile products in which better microcirculation as well as improved skin elasticity are seek.

The first Emana-based products manufactured this innovation will be delivered to customers soon. First items developed by Rhodia partner companies for lingerie and underwear segment will be presented during Salão Lingerie Brasil (from August 11th to August 13th, in São Paulo).

For the sports segment, the new products will be displayed during the Running Show (from August 21st to August 24th, in São Paulo).

Emana is based on a proprietary Rhodia technology and has been certified OEKO-TEX, class I, comprehensively addressing the Human Ecology component of the textile and attesting that no harmful to consumer substances is present in the product.

Evidenced innovation – The benefits brought by this Rhodia innovation were evidenced by means of a broad scientific study carried out by an independent Institute, expert in efficacy evaluation of products.

According to this study, clothes manufactured with Emana offer many advantages to the users. During sports practice for instance, 35% average reduction in the accumulation of lactic acid in muscles (which leads to muscular fatigues) and 41% improvement in body thermoregulation efficiency, as compared to other products.

The outcome is the improvement in performance, achieved due to reduction of muscle pains and by means of the improving of comfort feeling during the sports practice.

The study also indicated expressive gains delivered by clothes made with Emana for the purpose of cellulite treatment one of the major concerns of women nowadays.

Data extracted from a study with a group of volunteers who used Emana-based product for six hours per day during 60 days, showed an 8% increase in the skin elasticity, which represents an impressive result.

Exclusive technology - Emana development took Rhodia three years of research and development efforts, gathering teams from different sites and coordinated by Brazilian R&D team.
