Shima Seiki to show latest knitting technology in Istanbul

Japanese flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki will partake in a private exhibition in Istanbul – Turkey on 16-18 September, which is being hosted by its Turkish distributor.
Shima Seiki said it will showcase its diverse line-up of latest computerized flat knitting machines at the exhibition.
This includes its flagship MACH2X series, which features original ‘SlideNeedle’ on four needle beds and is the only machine suited to whole garment knitting in all needles.
Other machines include the compact SWG-N2 series knitting machines, which offers increased color capacity as well as the capability for producing industrial textiles.
The SRY123LP features a pair of loop presser beds mounted above a conventional V-shaped needle bed and is capable of producing unique knit fabrics with woven textures as well as technical textiles.
Shima Seiki said the new SVR workhorse series resets the industry benchmark once again for shaping machines in the tradition of its SES and SSG machines.
Also on display will be the SIPflatbed inkjet printing machine that features a height-adjustable printing head that allows for printing onto 3D textures, as well as finished products.
There will also be demonstrations on the SDS-ONE APEX3 design system, which the knitting machines producer said, is at the core of the company’s “Total Knitting System” concept.
APEX3 integrates knit production into one smooth and efficient workflow from planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion, Shima Seiki added.
Virtual sampling through photo-realistic simulation minimizes the need for sample-making, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process, Shima Seiki informed.
It added that the APEX3 also supports design and simulation in various other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.
Also on display will be seam-free knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics, as part of its latest 2015 S/S collection.
New solutions in knitwear design, shaping techniques and material selection will be shown which can further maximize benefits of knitting technology.
