SRF commissions modernised technical textile plant

SRF Limited, India based industrial group having presence in several businesses including technical textiles, engineered plastics, and packaging films businesses, has commissioned upgraded technical textile plant at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.

“With reference to the earlier letter dated February 10, 2015 informing Board's approval for modernisation of technical textile plant at Gwalior, M.P at an estimated cost of Rs 66 crore. SRF Ltd has now informed BSE that aforesaid project has been commissioned and capitalised at a cost of Rs 53.06 crore,” the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

In technical textiles, SRF offers a wide range of high-performance reinforcements covering both nylon and polyester yarns and fabrics for diverse non-consumer and lifestyle applications. Its product basket contains nylon tyre cord fabrics, polyester tyre cord fabrics, belting fabrics, coated fabrics, laminated fabrics, fishnet twines and industrial yarns.

The company is not only the largest manufacturer of technical textiles in India but also enjoys a global leadership for most of the products under this business. Apart from India, its manufacturing plants for technical textiles are present in Thailand and South Africa. (RKS)
