Uniqlo to launch more Ultra Light Down styles for FW14

UNIQLO announces that it will launch more Ultra Light Down (ULD) styles for fall winter 2014 than last season and offer ULD at all of its stores worldwide.

Within the ULD range, Compact Down has proven extremely popular since its debut in 2013. This item is as portable as a folding umbrella. Handy year-round, in summer Compact Down is useful in excessive air-conditioning or when traveling, while in the fall, it is ideal for chilly mornings or evenings. In winter, Compact Down works as an additional layer of warmth underneath or inside other items of clothing. Collarless, the sleeves are also shorter than other ULD, ensuring comfort when worn as innerwear.

Men's Compact Down debuts this season after a well-received launch of its equivalent products for women last year. This item is compact and portable, making it extremely convenient - be it as an outer or middle layer. For fall winter 2014, UNIQLO brings new men's Compact Down products, including a V-Neck Cardigan and Vest - appropriate as both outerwear and innerwear (for example, under a suit jacket or coat). They sport snap buttons instead of fasteners, and include a colorless collar option, delivering lightness and warmth as slim outerwear, or as a comfortable extra layer when at home.

The neck of the men's Compact Down Vest is designed for easy coordination, with the opening tailored to be appropriate under a suit jacket. Slits on either side ensure ease of movement, including when layered, while the mature tones include black, dark blue, and gray, to stylishly complement jackets or shirts.

For women, UNIQLO offers ULD Compact Down Vests for fall winter 2014 at all stores, building on from what was only available at large-scale stores last year. The women's ULD Compact Jacket is once again being offered at all stores, and last year's popular look is augmented with seams on the arms and front plackets, while soft pink and blue - inspired by a make-up palette - complement the complexion of the skin.

Compact Down is the first ULD product to hit the shelves this year, launching from July 28. The UNIQLO Ginza Global Flagship Store is also to feature a dedicated ULD display, on its twelfth floor, from July 30. Following from this, from Monday, August 18, UNIQLO offers new versions of the well-received ULD Jacket and Vest that debuted in 2009, and other items. The men's line features revamped stitching, to make the collar stiffer - more stylish, this boosts insulation by preventing cold air from entering through the neck opening, while new tailoring allows freer shoulder and arm movement. Finally, from September, UNIQLO releases ULD for colder weather, including the men's ULD Parka and ULD Coat.
