 UNIQLO’s break into South East Asia draws near as opening criteria for its first stores in Singapore are finalized. The first store is set to open in Singapore April 9, with the second store due to open early June 2009.
These will be UNIQLO’s first store openings in Singapore as the company speeds up its challenge to go global. We have every confidence that the stores will help provide a foothold into the South East Asian marketplace.
UNIQLO will open its first store in Singapore in spring 2009. The first store will open on April 9 in the newly developed Tampines 1 commercial facility in the Eastern area. The second store will open early June in the new ION commercial facility, a new landmark on Orchard Road in central Singapore.
UNIQLO’s push into markets outside of Japan began with the UK in 2001. The company is currently developing store networks in the UK, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, US and France.
Branching out into the Singapore market should help create a foothold into South East Asian markets as UNIQLO continues its global development. We have great expectations for these first East Asian stores as UNIQLO accelerates its challenge to go global.
