January 29, 2007

Cheetah Holdings Bhd is one of the profitable apparel companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia.

The group is planning to invest RM25 million for expansion during the next three to five years.

Recently Cheetah has struck a deal with Woolworths plc of UK for the exclusive rights to manufacture, distribute, promote and sell their commodities in Malaysia and Singapore.

The company has invested RM700,000 in Above Fashion House Sdn Bhd, which retails and distributes ladies fashion accessories and plans to invest RM1.5 million to expand Above Fashion's distribution network.

Cheetah is planning to open 80 boutiques and consignment counters for Above Fashion by 2009 and is expected to add up 6 percent to group’s profit by financial year 2008.

The company will also promote and sell Ladybird merchandise and anticipates that the brand will contribute 3 percent to group earnings in the current financial year.

The group has a widespread marketing and circulation system and has about 600 outlets and boutiques across the country.

Cheetah is also considering capturing other Asian countries by exporting its products.
