YKK – a serious threat to local zip industry

The YKK Fastening Products Group, one of the biggest zip manufacturers in the world which has invested in Shenzhen Province, formally began the production in August this year.
Here, ARC FASTENING brand of zip will be manufactured, targeting the low and middle market of domestic zip industry. This ensures that the local zip manufacturing companies are threatened with severe competition.
For past many years, the YKK Group has been using cheap Chinese labour for producing zips, which were mostly meant for exporting.
Recently, China Zip Industrial General Meeting took place in Shantou city, Guangdong Province. Experts believe that this step of YKK would promote the development of Chinese zip industry, even though it is one of the biggest rival of local zip enterprises.
