The ‘Clean India – Green India’ campaign by Hearts@work Foundation, a Zenitex initiative, took its tree plantation drive forward by planting more trees at Kadoli Gam, Nandod Gam and Maroli Gam, and in Bhadol Primary School of Bhadol Village, Olpad Taluka this month. Altogether 375 trees of different varieties were planted at these places.

Recording a fabulous feat, on August 10, Hearts@work volunteers along with the residents of Kadoli Gam, Nandod Gam and Maroli Gam planted 3,500 trees in a single day—a unique kind of an achievement.

Most of the trees planted were around 6 to 8 feet tall and included several varieties like gulmohar, pilto palm, bakam limdo, jamuda, badam, pipda, vad, jamrukhi, sitafad, bagali bavar, rain tree, aamli, rajasthani, and barsoli.

Applauding and inspiring the locals for tree plantation drive, Zenitex CEO Viral Desai said, “This shows the passion that is generated amongst the locals and government bodies to boost the ‘Clean India – Green India’ campaign at a wonderful pace.”

“This is a small step in a continuous process towards cleaner and greener future,” he added, and assured that his initiative and the pledge he took—to plant trees throughout his life—will only gain momentum with every tree that is planted under the ‘Clean India – Green India’ campaign.

Subsequently on August 12, the venue for tree plantation was Bhadol Primary School. Viral Desai and Hearts@work Foundation team were joined by NCC cadets from Ghandhy College, one of the leading government colleges of Surat. A total of 255 trees were planted with varieties like asoo palav, bottle palm, anas, jamuda, gulmohar and jamrukhi.

The team further ensured Bhadol village sarpanch that Hearts@work, its volunteers and engineering team of Zenitex along with the help of the NCC cadets, will conduct a survey of electricity used in every house of the village, and give a basic electrical consultancy by suggesting ways to save their electricity usage by changing from conventional energy to renewable energy. Hearts@work has also promised to provide the required LEDs at heavily discounted prices (special rates) to the villagers. It will help them save their hard earned money and in return saving energy and nature and fulfilling the motive of joining the ‘Clean India – Green India’ initiative. (RKS)
