A partnership in beauty

Diane von Furstenberg & id beauty have signed an exclusive partnership for the launch of a beauty line with the first fragrance scheduled for release in 2011.

Since the early 1970s, Diane von Furstenberg has established an intimate connection with women that has grown stronger over time. Her signature Wrap dress remains a symbol of independence and self-confidence that spans generations.

Having first started in the beauty business in 1975, the newest partnership for DVF brings her connection with women full circle.

“I have always wanted to work with Chantal Roos and now that dream has become a reality,” says Diane von Furstenberg. “Together, we reviewed all possible options. We chose the expertise of id beauty and Alexandre Cukier for his ability to create a skincare line – on top of fragrance – that would continue the dialogue I have with women.”

DVF has always been driven by instinct and by her ability to empower herself and others. Being a woman and a designer for more than 35 years, Diane has the unique experience needed to create a full beauty line.

Combined with Diane von Furstenberg's abilities, Alexandre Cukier – president and founder of id beauty – and Chantal Roos bring their talent and savoir-faire to this project.

In 15 years, id beauty - a dynamic French company – has successfully established itself in two key areas of the beauty business: creating high-end, high technology skincare brands and distributing fragrances and cosmetics internationally. Today, it is adding the development of fragrance licensing.

With AG Labs – a R&D laboratory in skincare – id beauty has created and developed several expert brands, such as Rexaline, O2 D Biotic and Fruit Forever.

Based in the USA, the scientific subsidiary offers state-of-the-art research for constant innovation. Its structure allows id beauty to meet women's needs with adapted skincare. Its unique position in researching efficiency has led to innovative concepts such as Rexaline, a product based upon hydration and sold exclusively through Sephora as the number 3 bestseller in Europe.

Into this equation comes Chantal Roos, an industry veteran with extensive knowledge in fragrances and cosmetics and with a clear vision of luxury. Working with talented designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake and Stella Mc Cartney, she has captured their daring genius and translated it into fragrances bearing the names of Opium, Kouros, Paris, L'Eau d'Issey, Le Mâle or L'Homme, bio skincare such as Care by Stella McCartney and makeup for YSL.
