Leather exports from Turkey increased by 23 percent year-on-year during the January-May period of current year, according to the Turkish Leather & Leather Products Industry Assembly.
Turkey exported leather and leather products worth US$ 531 million during the five-month period, compared to US$ 431 million in the corresponding period in 2010.
The main countries which imported Turkish leather during the period were France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Iraq.
