Shishi City's footwear exports to EU up, ASEAN dip

Footwear exports from Shishi City to European Union have increased, while to the ASEAN countries have declined during the initial eight months of the current year.
During January to August 2011, Shishi City exported 738 consignments of footwear to the EU, registering a year-on-year growth of 4.97 percent. Value-wise, these consignments were worth US$ 37.637 million, up 26.6 percent year-on-year.
However, footwear exports to ASEAN declined 54.6 percent year-on-year to US$ 1.035 million during the same period. Volume-wise, too, the exports declined by 19.6 percent to 41 consignments.
Shishi City is a County-level city in the municipal region of Quanzhou, Fujian province in China.
